How much coverage do I need?
Coverage is based on your individual situation.
- › Pick a deductible you can pay out-of-pocket in case of an accident.
- › If you make payments or lease a car, you may need Comprehensive and Collision along with Liability coverage.
- › How much in personal assets do you need to protect? You may need liability limits higher than your state requires.
- › Do any drivers live in your house but never drive your vehicles? In many cases, you can exclude them from coverage on your policy to lower your rate.
Our auto insurance provides the following important coverages:
Collision
For damage to your auto resulting from an accident.
Other than Collision
For damage to your auto caused by a wide range of perils other than impact with another vehicle or object (example: theft or vandalism).
Liability
Covers your liability to others for bodily injury or property damage for which you are legally liable.
Medical Payments
Pays medical bills for you and others, including doctor, hospital and surgical expenses, without regard to negligence.
Uninsured/Underinsured Motorists
Pays for bodily injury and property damage* resulting from a hit-and-run driver, a driver with no insurance or a driver who is inadequately insured.
Discounts and credits
You can save money on your auto insurance if any of the following applies to you:
- The Auto/Home Discount is available if both your qualifying auto and homeowners insurance are with the same company.
And, if you’re 45-or-older, you could qualify for our exclusive Prime of Life® Plan, which provides enhanced auto/homeowners coverages, in addition to substantial premium discounts.
- Multi-car discount, if more than one auto is insured by ABCO.
- Discounts for the installation of certain anti-theft devices and passive restraint systems.
- Substantial premium credits if you choose larger deductibles for your Collision and Other than Collision coverages.
Additional coverages
Personal Injury Protection
If you live in a state with no-fault auto insurance, this coverage provides for hospital and medical expenses, lost wages and other expenses incurred following an accident.
Optional coverages
The following coverages are available for a small additional premium.
Towing – pays for towing and labor charges whenever your car is disabled.
Rental Reimbursement/Transportation Expense – pays for car rental while your car is being repaired as a result of a covered loss.
Difference in Value Coverage – pays for the ”gap” (up to a certain limit) between the actual cash value of your car and your loan or lease obligation should your car be totaled early in the loan or lease period.
Coverage for Tapes, Records, Discs and other Media
Auto Replacement Cost Coverage pays for replacement cost loss settlement in place of actual cash value.
